MUSEO JUGANDO CON TAMAYO

2013 | Exhibition design, interactive design, and interior design

Since 2005 the bus-cabinet Jugando con Tamayo visits public schools, offering an approach to contemporary art to elementary school students.

In 2013 Ulises Figueroa created a new approach to the experience and Tamayo commissioned Butic to create the new identity and interior solution for Jugando con Tamayo cabinet.

Boutique divided the project in two main areas: the bus being used as a vehicle, and the transformation of the space into a museum for the kids to experience it. As a vehicle, the bus had to transport 7 persons for the workshops, for that purpose, we installed retractable seats that are placed behind sliding panels. Once the team arrives to the school, in 8 minutes they are able to transform the space into a small museum provided with a TV an audio system and several interactive pieces that enhance the experience. The top of the bus is equipped with solar panels that provides the energy needed to light the guided visits.

The Jugando con Tamayo bus-cabinet is a moving space that conveys a functional transport solution with an exhibition experience, allowing Tamayo's social project to travel around the metropolis.
